Glow Reviews is an open-source WordPress testimonial plugin developed by Moti Raj Gautam in Butwal, Nepal. Our mission is to give website owners complete ownership of their customer feedback—with zero monthly SaaS fees, zero tracking scripts, and unlimited social proof.
Why We Built Glow Reviews
Most modern testimonial solutions are delivered as external Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) widgets. While convenient, they present serious drawbacks for WordPress publishers:
- Data Lock-in: If you cancel your monthly subscription, your customer reviews disappear from your website.
- Frontend Performance Drag: Third-party iframe embeds and bloated tracking scripts inflate page weight and hurt Core Web Vitals.
- Privacy Concerns: External widgets often send visitor browsing data and submitter emails to third-party tracking servers.
Glow Reviews was built from the ground up to solve these problems. Testimonials are stored directly inside your own WordPress database using standard custom post types (glowrev_testimonial). The plugin runs 100% locally on your server with zero external script calls, zero analytics beacons, and zero monthly fees.
